Future Looks Rosé for Sydney Property Developer – Romeciti Acquires Sobels’ Hunter Valley Vineyard in $15m Deal –

Sydney, Australia – 30 July 2018 – Sydney based property developer, Romeciti has expanded its asset portfolio, acquiring Kevin Sobels Winery in the Hunter Valley in a seven figure deal, valued at over $15m following upgrade works.

Known for sustainable, luxury residences, the strategic acquisition is part of Romeciti’s commitment to its “Green Life” ethos – providing high-end properties with lifestyles to match. With the acquisition of Kevin Sobels Winery, Romeciti is looking to carry out significant upgrades and redesign to turn the winery into a lifestyle destination for Romeciti customers and the general public.

As part of the deal, the Kevin Sobel winery will continue to operate as normal, retaining its world-class winemakers, with short and long term developments planned as part of Romeciti’s green life strategy.

Ash Plaskett, Communications Officer at Romeciti, believes the acquisition is testament to the company’s long term plan to create a holistic living experience, through a combination of elegant, resort style accommodation, green spaces, sustainability and community activities.

“Short-term we want to make a series of significant upgrades and design changes to the existing site. We want to make Kevin Sobel Winery a world class destination for Romeciti residents, locals and the general public to enjoy private wine tastings, stunning views and exclusive, resort-style accommodation, with each individual villa being designed around a unique theme,” said Plaskett.

“Longer term we’re painting a bigger picture, combining residential living, tourism and lifestyles in a sustainable way. The winery is the perfect location to bring communities together through luxury accommodation, restaurants and world class wine. This is a very exciting opportunity for Romeciti and we look forward to creating a sanctuary designed to help you switch off, connect and breathe deeply using the balance of nature.”

While the winery will be open to the general public and positioned as a key tourist destination, Romeciti customers will benefit from exclusive perks including regular promotional offers, discounts and priority access. The site will also act as a key venue for the company’s “Green Life” community events.

Located in the heart of the Hunter Valley, 160 kms North of Romeciti’s developments, the estate consists of 22 hectares of mostly cleared land and a further 13 acres of planted vineyard. As such, it proved to be the ideal investment to transform into a luxury retreat without disrupting the ongoing winery operations and retaining its rich winemaking history.

Romeciti will begin the DA process in late 2018, upgrades and refurbishment works are expected to commence in early 2019, with the accommodation set to open to Romeciti customers in late 2019.

The winery acquisition marks over $20m in investment in lifestyle destinations this year, following Romeciti’s acquisition of Camden Nursery and North Rocks Greenery in early 2018. Similarly to the winery, both these assets are now in the process of being transformed into “Green Life” community hubs, bringing together landscaped gardens, eateries and more.

“As our cities become more dense, with developments taking priority of green spaces, we want to be able to offer our customers access to jaw-dropping communal spaces that further enrich their lifestyle. As these spaces become increasingly rare within city limits, our recent acquisitions enable our residents to reconnect with nature and become part of a unique community,” said Plaskett.

“We look forward to continuing to identify other potential assets to bring into our portfolio, which makes it easier for our residents to choose a healthy lifestyle, without compromising on quality, comfort and livability.”

As part of Romeciti’s Green Life ethos, the company will continue to look for future acquisition opportunities, which share its sustainability focus and ‘green’ vision.
